Recommended Author--Richard Wright

A very famous author who has the ability to convey his thoughts and images in all his books such as: Native Son, Rite of Passage as well as The Outsider just to name a few. To me his books are must read books!

Mine Eyes Have Seen: Bearing Witness to the Struggle for Civil Rights by Bob Adelman

This book is breathtaking. It is an eye opener of what all blacks had to deal with in the past and are still dealing with in the present right along with other cultures. Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights movement opened a lot of doors for African Americans and other minorities. We all need to remenber that and keep his and our dreams alive everyday. A big must read!
